I've just bought this copy of shorts by Roald Dahl. Mainly because it goes so well with my copy of Kiss Kiss, and also because Roald Dahl is a genius.

Our open studios this year are the first weekend in December. We will be open from 6pm on Friday for drinks, mince pies and festive arty fun.

I've finally admitted to myself that carrying a book around in my bag isn't the same as actually reading it, and have reluctantly put the Snow Leopard on hold.
Instead I'm reading some Murakami for the first time in ages, and thoroughly enjoying it. Someone at work described this perfectly as the kind of writing that leaves a sort of emotional residue, rather than any lasting memory of plot or details. Perfect stay-at-home-and-listen-to-the-rain reading.

The Snow Leopard

I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this, a recommendation from Foyles on the Southbank. An explorer goes in search of the Snow Leopard and records his journey (physical and emotional). Also a beautiful front cover.

I'm planning a big website update before the summer's out, but in the meantime here are some of the things I've been working on at Viasat. The first image is from a promo for a new programme called Community. The second two are for TV1000, an opportunity to get the Trellick Tower on TV after passing it on the way to work every day.

This came from Elephant library but took ages to read and I only got page 42 before I had to take it back. To be continued at some point.

This took a while to sink in:
"It was a chainless bicycle, with a free wheel, if such a bicycle exists."
I've been struggling to find somewhere to put the feet.

London Belongs to Me

Set in 1938, and based around the inhabitants of one house in Kennington. The road is called Dulcimer Street which according to Google maps no longer exists.

Falling back on remembering

I originally wrote this post ages ago, but have only just got around to reading this book and needed to say more. It's beautiful. A story of love, of healing, of art and restoration. An honest description of the gentle and important moments in life. It made me want to write poetry.

CBeebies Songs

I've been tucked away in television centre for the last couple of weeks, working on a load of stuff for Cbeebies. The first two images are from two new songs, going on air this week. The last pic is from the Presenter Facts idents. I'll post links for the finished work once it's up on their website. All of this work was directed by Holly Shepherd.

Tower Bridge

This post is mainly to stop the terrible colour clash between CBeebies green (above) and Smother green (below). But I've never actually seen Tower Bridge open before, so it was quite exciting. Even more so given that it opened to let some sort of 19th Century pirate ship through...

The Artangel project I have been working on is open for the next couple of weeks in Kings Cross. It is a collaboration between artist Sarah Cole and the Coram Young Parents project and has had great reviews (here). I did the design and illustration for the publicity material. Recollection Show
