I've finally admitted to myself that carrying a book around in my bag isn't the same as actually reading it, and have reluctantly put the Snow Leopard on hold.Instead I'm reading some Murakami for the first time in ages, and thoroughly enjoying it. Someone at work described this perfectly as the kind of writing that leaves a sort of emotional residue, rather than any lasting memory of plot or details. Perfect stay-at-home-and-listen-to-the-rain reading.
